I finally found myself a new job so that I can leave my crazy ass job at Innovation Associates. That's right, I can finally name names and point fingers at the fuckbags that have caused me so much stress and grief over the years.
I'm really not in the mood to air my grievances right now, but let me just say that I've never worked for such an unprofessional, stupidly run company as Innovation Associates. I'm honestly surprised that they can stay in business with the shit that they pull on customers and employees alike.
Ah, off to a mini-vacation before I start my new job.

Semi-new toy!
Hi-Point 995 9mm carbine. I actually got this a couple of weeks ago, but I was having issues with the magazine accepting 10 rounds and jamming. I think I have the issues sorted out now (after calling Hi-Point), so I added a Tasco red/green dot sight. I'm going to replace the stock with an ATI aftermarket stock soon, because the factory stock kind of sucks. And it's ugly.

New toy! Romanian AK-47 clone.
Note to BATF - Yes, that is a pre-ban 30 round magazine, manufactured before Sept 13th, 1994.This is my new project rifle. I'm going to replace the cheap pistol grip with a nice one that doesn't feel like a toy. The buttstock is getting replaced with a black skeleton stock, and the fore grip is being replaced with a black polymer job that has 4 built in picatinny rails, the bottom one of which will be used for a forward vertical grip.

Pistol caliber carbine ammo
Pistol Caliber Carbines - Ammo hassle?
I'm normally very wordy, so I'm going to try to keep this short by bullet pointing.
So, I went to Gander to find some ammo. White box Winchester for $24 per 100 rounds? Ok, I'll take a box. Then the guy tells me he needs to see my pistol permit. Sorry man, no permit, this is for a pistol caliber carbine.
He looks at me like he has no clue. So I tried to explain. "Short rifle that fires pistol ammo?" Still blank. "It's a 995 by Hi-Point." Then he basically calls me a liar and says nobody makes rifles that fire pistol ammo. "Really? You've never heard of, oh, AN UZI?" He tells me of course he has heard of UZIs, but that they are sub-machine guns. Sure are, but they have PISTOL CALIBER CARBINES with fixed stocks for those of us who live in fascist states like NY.
10 minutes later, he finally gives me the ammo and tells me to bring my permit the next time. The one I don't have? Sure, I'll do that, jackass.
So, today, I decided "Screw gander, I'll go to Wally world." EHHHHHHN! Wrong answer. The manager at the firearms counter acted like I was a criminal, asking for pistol ammo without a permit. Then he told me it was against the law to sell it without a pistol permit. Of course right in front of him is a large sign with HUGE letters saying that in order to buy pistol ammo you have to be 21. NOWHERE does it state you have to have a pistol permit.
Does anybody else get hassled like this buying ammo for a Hi-Point, CX4, or other PCC? Or am I just lucky?

Plan to dress it up and make it a bit nicer soon. (ATI stock, Bushman handle, barrel shroud, etc...)

Syracuse Gun Show
Went to the 'Cuse today to shop around at the gun show. Didn't find any guns that I wanted (at least not that I could afford), but I did pick up some pre-ban 20 round magazines for my Ruger Mini-14. I bought John Masen magazines from John Masen himself, which was pretty neat. I don't know how well they are going to work (had some issues loading them), but we'll see.
I also picked up an old army 7.62 ammo dry box, and a shitload of ammo for my AKM and M44.
Speaking of M44s, holy crap they were EVERYWHERE! About 1 in 5 people I walked by had a newly purchased M44 slung over their shoulder.
