Frontlines: Fuel of War, STEAM, and my refund.

So, I did exactly what I told STEAM support I would do if they did not issue me a refund. I called my bank and disputed the charge. Guess who got his $50 back?

The writers of The Wire: How to end the war on drugs

This is an absolutely fantastic article than ran in Time. ARTICLE

Everyone knows, or SHOULD know, what a horrible effect the "war on drugs" is having on our country. Essentially it is Orwellian: The war goes on, not because of some moral imperative, not because it's helping people, but because war is meant to be continual. By keeping us in a constant state of war - the war on drugs, the war on terror - the government has been able to gradually erode our rights and liberties and do what the government does best: Look out for itself.

What these gentlemen suggest is simple: From now on, if you are called to serve on a jury deliberating a violation of state or federal drugs laws, vote to acquit without regard to the evidence presented, except in cases involving acts of violence or intentional harm.

If asked to serve on a jury deliberating a violation of state or federal drug laws, we will vote to acquit, regardless of the evidence presented. Save for a prosecution in which acts of violence or intended violence are alleged, we will — to borrow Justice Harry Blackmun's manifesto against the death penalty — no longer tinker with the machinery of the drug war. No longer can we collaborate with a government that uses nonviolent drug offenses to fill prisons with its poorest, most damaged and most desperate citizens.

I applaud these men, and I think that they have a legitimate method to bring attention to the fact that our draconian drugs laws DO NOT WORK!

Deathly Hallows - 2 movies

It's nice to hear that they plan on keeping the story butchers away from the last film. Apparently somebody figured out that they could make more money by cutting the last film in half, and they decided to market it as a "story" decision.

Amazing technology: No speech throat phone

That's just amazing. I love all these new inventions that are showing up that were science fiction when I was a child.

Woman stuck on toilet for two years.

One of the most bizarre stories I have ever read: HERE.

Witty WoW moments...

...that the 12 year olds probably didn't get.

Somebody said: "Remember, if you didn't buy it from me, your ass probably paid to [sic] much".

To which I replied: "I usually don't allow my ass to pay for anything. He has trouble enough just pulling my cart, so I try not to let him handle the money".

Stargate: The Ark of Truth

The DVD movie Stargate: The Ark of Truth was released yesterday in North America. The 101 minute film brings closure to the story arc of the 9th and 10th seasons of Stargate: SG-1.

Without writing up a full review, I'd just like to say I really enjoyed the movie. I'm a hug Stargate fan, and this was a nice way to wrap things up for people like me. The story was akin to a 3 episode arc, but with bigger and better effects. If you liked seasons 9 and 10 (some didn't) then you will probably enjoy this.

Now I'm even more stoked for the next DVD movie, Stargate: Continuum. And hey, Richard Dean Anderson is in the next one!

The system does NOT work.

The system raped this man for 26 years of his life. He was fucked over by two attorneys following the ridiculous laws of the system. The laws that protect criminals and persecute the innocent.

This poor guy has had 26 years of his life wasted and now what is his reward? They may allow him a new trial, and they may set him free.

When are we going to wake up and realize that our country is seriously fucked up, and that we need to do something about it?
